Autonomous Aircraft

Not everyone is cut out to be a pilot. But air mobility should be a dream accessible to all of us.

While autonomously piloted aircraft have many more challenges to overcome, it is necessary that we consider how to integrate them even in the present. As personal air mobility becomes more available, it will necessitate an overhaul of our air traffic control systems. If we are to be successful as a society in making this dream come true, we need to be forward thinking.

Almost all aircraft concepts are already imagining a future with autonomously piloted configurations. The idea looks great at trade shows, and helps to inspire and attract investors. Some companies are already putting a lot of investment into research and development of different technical solutions.

While the certification of such systems is rapidly evolving, Personal Air Mobility will try to evaluate the progress that different companies are making on autonomous personal flight.

For now, here are some links and news articles on the latest projects.
